Hamedan Higher School of Agriculture, the first higher agricultural education center in Hamedan, was established in March 1966 by the late Dr. Ali Eqbali under the title "Higher School of Agriculture" with the approval of the Central Council of Universities and was approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in 1969. Until 1969, the Higher School of Agriculture only had a two-year "Associate Program in Agriculture" course. In 1969, with the approval of the Ministry of Science, a bachelor's degree course was established in this center in two fields: "Cooperation and Rural Affairs" and "Agricultural Promotion", and since then its name has been changed from "Higher School of Agriculture" to "Higher School of Agriculture". Dr. Mansour Gholami, Dr. Iraj Malek Mohammadi, Dr. Seyed Mahmoud Hosseini, Dr. Yousef Hejazi, Dr. Abdolhamid Papzan and Dr. Mohammad Reza Hamzeh are among the first graduates of this course.

After the issuance of the license to establish Bu-Ali Sina University in 1973 and its approval in 1974, the Hamadan Faculty of Agriculture officially began its activities in the form of the "Agricultural Development Complex" as one of the four main branches of Bu-Ali Sina University, in the former location of the Hamadan Tannery Factory. The first professors of Bu-Ali Sina University were sent to France to study under the Iranian government scholarship, based on a joint treaty between Iran and France, and Dr. Darvish was elected as the first dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.
