International Scientific Cooperation Management

Science and technology, as one of the most significant indicators of human civilization, are the outcomes of humanity’s collective intellectual efforts, with all people contributing in various ways to their creation and accumulation. Accordingly, their development and advancement require the participation and collective efforts of all human beings within the framework of international scientific cooperation. Access to advanced knowledge and technologies in various scientific fields through the establishment of international relations among scientific and research institutions of different countries is one of the most important instruments for expanding international cooperation.

Universities and research centers are among the most important actors in the field of international relations. Alongside their role in generating science and technology, they play a key and central role in attracting, transferring, and sharing global knowledge and expertise.

In this regard, the International Scientific Cooperation Management of Bu-Ali Sina University is the main authority responsible for the university’s external relations in the areas of education and international exchanges. Through its international communications, this office actively works toward implementing the university’s internationalization policies and strengthening global academic partnerships. Internationalizing university activities, enhancing international cooperation, and utilizing global capacities are among the main responsibilities of this management unit. This office operates as an independent unit under the supervision of the President of the University.

In general, the objectives of the International Scientific Cooperation Management of Bu-Ali Sina University can be summarized as follows:

• Identifying opportunities for expanding cooperation, establishing, developing, and following up international relations in the fields of education, research, and cultural exchanges with domestic and international universities, higher education institutions, and scientific, educational, and research organizations at regional and global levels;

• Managing affairs related to scholarships and research opportunities, and facilitating the overseas mobility of students and faculty members for academic and research purposes;

• Providing assistance in administrative and financial matters and supporting admission procedures with host institutions for short-term international visits, participation in conferences, and academic events;

• Handling official visits of university representatives and facilitating invitations extended to official foreign delegations;

• Coordinating and managing meetings, visits, interviews, lectures, and academic exchanges with international educational institutions, experts, and researchers;

• Conducting negotiations and facilitating the signing of scientific and research cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding with foreign universities and educational institutions;

• Providing support and active participation in organizing international conferences, seminars, workshops, and educational programs;

• Facilitating the admission and management of international students.

Considering that universities are primarily centers for the production of knowledge and science and subsequently for their dissemination and expansion, it is hoped that this institution will play an effective role in developing appropriate strategies and providing suitable solutions for establishing and expanding international scientific cooperation and communications, as part of the university’s special mission in advancing science and technology, and in improving and strengthening the international performance of Bu-Ali Sina University.
