Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1994 as a Veterinary Training School by launching an associate degree program in veterinary medicine in part of the old building of the Faculty of Agriculture of Bu-Ali Sina University and moved to its current location in the second half of 1990. After obtaining the in-principle approval of the Higher Education Development Council to launch a non-continuous undergraduate program in laboratory sciences, students were admitted to this program from the academic year 2005-2006. At the beginning of 2010, with the final approval of the Higher Education Development Council to admit students to two non-continuous undergraduate programs in food hygiene and non-continuous undergraduate programs in meat hygiene and inspection, this educational unit continued its activities as the first para-veterinary faculty in the country. Continuing the development of the educational activities of this faculty, continuous undergraduate programs in laboratory sciences and food hygiene were also launched in 2013 and 2018, respectively.

Graduate courses were launched in 2011 with the admission of students to the Master's degree program in Parasitology at the faculty, and in 2012, the Master's degree program in Bacteriology and the PhD programs in Immunology and Bacteriology were added to the faculty and students were admitted to them. Continuing the development of the faculty's graduate courses, the Master's degree program in Food Hygiene and Quality Control was launched in 2013.
