The names of 24 researchers from Bu-Ali Sina University have been included in the latest edition of the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list

According to the latest data from the Scopus citation database (2026), 24 faculty members and students of Bu-Ali Sina University have been included in the latest edition of the “World’s Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists” list. 
Eight researchers from Bu-Ali Sina University have been included in this ranking for the first time. In the career-long assessment through the end of 2025, the list includes Dr. Hossein Ilukhani, Dr. Javad Behnamian, and Dr. Davoud Raoufi, members of the University’s academic staff, as well as Dr. Mohammad Abedini, a PhD student in Electrical Engineering.
In the single-year assessment for 2025, Dr. Babak Zhaleh, Dr. Noushin Noushiravani, and Dr. Meysam Yari, members of the University’s academic staff, together with Dr. Sedigheh Alavi-Nia, a PhD graduate in Organic Chemistry, have also been included in the list. 
The list of the world’s most-cited researchers is compiled using citation data indexed in the Scopus database. A key measure in this assessment is the composite indicator known as the C-score, which considers not only citation data but also authorship contributions and the author’s position in a publication. 
Researchers are selected either by ranking among the world’s top 100,000 researchers according to the composite indicator or by being placed in the top 2% of their respective subfield. The list comprises two distinct assessments: a career-long assessment, which evaluates researchers’ citation impact throughout their scientific careers, and a single-year assessment, which takes into account citations received during the 2025 calendar year. 
The presence of Bu-Ali Sina University researchers on this international list reflects the University’s scientific and research capabilities and highlights the contributions of its faculty members and researchers to the advancement of knowledge across diverse fields of specialization.
